Fame: A two faced word

essay : What is fame? I believe it's a temporary word for popular acclaim. Temporary? Because fame is a two-faced precursor for notoriety; being famous can be caused by being known for good or bad acts.

Let's start with the bad. We all know that Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan all have something in common. They all went through the great Mouse entertainment empire as performers, are eccentric and have erratic behavior. Yes they're endowed with fame, but not for the good reasons and in fact their unorthodox attitudes overcome their desirable traits. Sad but true; that's the bad face of fame.

Another face that defines fame is Angelina Jolie. It's undoubted that she is loved by all: men want to date her, women want to be her, gays emulate her manners, and lesbians like to also do what men do. Aside from that Jolie has promoted humanitarian causes throughout the world. To top it off, she did the noble act a human being can do—become a mother to three adopted children. What more can you say? Undeniably, these humanitarian achievements place her in the list of modern celebrity role models.
