As Barack Obama became the first African American president in a country where rampant discrimination proliferated its nation not more than 50 years ago, it has shown the world that everyone can be and do whatever he wants regardless of age, gender or race. He gave the world renewed hope especially at a time like this. He promised the citizens of his nation that he will uplift them from the financial trouble that most of them are experiencing now. Although some European leaders are still quite wary of him, he did promise that he will abolish the existence of Guantanamo Bay which has become a symbol of how a bully America could be.
Although we have yet to feel the terrible effects of this global financial crisis as most first world countries have, it affects us in a way that foreign companies cannot invest as much as they did and this will give way to lesser jobs available. Also, it will affect the tourism in first world countries because not a lot of foreigners would visit other countries since they are more likely to save up than spend money on leisure.
