Celebrities Are Not Public Puppets (They are Humans Too)

essay :
If Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears, and Miley Cyrus are not celebrities, would we mind if they take drugs, drive recklessly, or dance in a pole? What if Angelina Jolie is just a woman who lives in a small apartment but an advocate against poverty, would we put her picture in the front page of a broadsheet?
In the world of entertainment, celebrities are public figures. People are expecting them to act appropriately(whatever meaning being attached to the word appropriate by many people) especially if they are being seen as role models to kids and teenagers.
Everybody might agree that Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Miley Cyrus are worldwide celebrities both in the real and virtual world. Most people especially the young ones have become so fascinated with their charisma, with their music, and with their passion and they have become inspirations to their fans. However, when they are on the verge of their success, they became the role models who have turned into an ugly duckling in which they are seen as bad influences to their avid fans. This has become their trademark.
On the other hand, Angelina Jolie has always lived up to the people's expectations and I agree that she is a role model celebrity of our time. She choses to help building a better world and I think she will always be one of our prime movers of change.
No matter what path these celebrities have taken, what is important is that everybody has learned his/her lesson.
